Roulette offers the best odds in any casino game and is the most enjoyable. It is also the most expensive but by far the most profitable.

Roulette consists of many bets to choose from all paying different odds depending on how many numbers are bet.

The player can place as many roulette chips as they like on the Roulette bets stated below as long as they are inside the maximums.

The roulette table normally has place for six to eight players, each player has a different colour for the chips to make it easy for the dealer to track the bets. Playing Roulette is really easy. You pick a number or field and place your bet on it, the dealer then spins the roulette wheel and places a ball inside the wheel and as the wheel stops the ball lands on a number and if the ball lands on your number or the field containing your number you win.

There are two types of roulette tables. The American Roulette table that has 38 numbers including 0 (zero) and 00 (double zero) which increase the house advantage to 5.3%. And then there is the European or French roulette table tha has 37 numbers (missing the double zero). This gives the house an advantage of 2.7%. Simply said, you will loose your money twice as fast playing American roulette as opposed to playing European or French roulette.

Roulette System table

The numbers on the wheel do not appear to be organized and seem to be distributed pretty much randomly. The only obvious pattern is that red and black numbers alternate each other and that usually two odd numbers alternate with two even numbers. However the distribution of numbers was carefully arranged. Never is a colour placed next to each other and neither is an odd or even on the wheel.

Most Common Bets and Payouts

Roulette Even Chance Bets

Red, black, odd, even, 1-18 and 19-36. Even chance bets pay even money.
If zero wins even chances lose half. (online casinos don't always do this though)

Roulette Dozen Bets

There are 3 Dozen Bets with 12 numbers in each.

1st Dozen are numbers 1-12
2nd Dozen are numbers 13-24
3rd dozen are numbers 25-26

Bet pays 2 to 1.

Roulette Column Bets

Like Dozen Bets, Column Bets have 12 numers each.
Column Bets in roulette work in the same way but horizontal on the layout.

1st Column (1,4,7,10,13,16,19,22,25,28,31,34)
2nd Column (2,5,8,11,14,17,20,23,26,29,32,35)
3rd Column (3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30,33,36)

Bet pays 2 to 1.

Roulette Straight up

A bet on one winning number. Bet pays 35-1

Roulette Split or Cheval

This is one bet placed on 2 numbers on the layout. Bet pays 17 to 1.

Roulette Street

One bet placed on 3 numbers on the layout. Bet pays 11 to 1.

Roulette Corner

One bet placed on 4 numbers on the layout. Bet pays 8 to 1.

Roulette Six line

One bet placed on 6 numbers on the layout. Bet pays 5 to 1.

The Roulette Zero

This number still has payout odds of 35 to 1 but is on the wheel to favour the casino. As there are 36 numbers the player could buy in for 36 chips and place one on every number, doing this the player would win all their money back and start off with the same amount every time they bet because the odd are 35-1 plus your bet back. The online casino has the zero to stop this because the extra number isn’t counted in the odds. Zero is still a good bet all the same and with the same odds. In American Roulette, the double zero applies, which favours the online casino even further.

Table Maximums in Roulette

Table Maximums in Roulette do apply to favour the casino. If maximums were not in place then the player could just double their bet until they win all their money back, which defeats the object of having a casino really. Online casinos have different maximums for different gamblers.

Online roulette has spread this exciting game even further. Along with the software the online casino provides, you can also download and use roulette systems applications like Routrack.
